Author: Ustadz Ahmad Zainuddin, Lc.
Abu Huraira -may Allah be pleased with him – said that Prophet Muhammad -peace and prayer of Allah be upon him- said, ‘A believer is not mired in the same hole twice “.(Muttafaqun ‘alaih).
Morals:
- This hadith comes in the form of news, but it means prohibition. It means that a clever, smart believer, shouldn’t let himself off guard this he did the same mistake twice without conscious.
- It may also means a negation. It means that a smart believer would never fall into the same mistake twice.
- The same mistake mentioned in this hadith includes the mistake in religious and worldly affair. See: Lessons 1-3 in “Fath al Bari”, a book by Ibn Hajr, 10:530.
- A believer who fell into sins and mistakes supposed to feel as if been stung; restless and dislike to repeat it, as Prophet Yusuf (Joseph) -peace be upon him- after his desire with Zulaikha, he never talked to women before he covered his face with some cover. See : “Faidh al-Qadir”, by al Munawi, 6:588.
