On being A Man that Allah loves
O Allah, please let Your slave, to be the man that You love the most..…
“Abdullah Ibn Umar -may Allah be pleased with him- narrated that a man came to Prophet Muhammad -peace and prayer of Allah be upon him, and asked him, “O Messenger of Allah, who is the most beloved man to Allah? What deed that Allah loves the most?”. The Messenger of Allah -peace and prayer of Allah be upon him- answered,
1. “The most beloved man to Allah is the most beneficial to mankind.
2. And the most beloved deed to Allah is to please a muslim.
3. or to drive out troubles from him,
4. or to settle his debt,
5. or to fulfill his empty stomach,
6. Indeed, my walking with my muslim brother in one of his need is dearer to me than to stay praying in this masjid (Masjid of the Prophet) for a month.
7. and whoever restrain his anger, Allah will certainly screen his defects.
8. and whoever restrain his wrath, whereas if he would he might burst it out, Allah will certainly fill his heart with pleases in Hereafter.m
9. and whoever walked with his muslim brother in order to fulfill his need, until he finished it, Allah will certainly strengthen his feet on the day where foots are slipping away.
10. and indeed, the evil manners will truly destroy the deeds, just like vinegar destroys the honey. “ (Narrated by Ath Thabrani in his work “Mu’jam Al Kabir”, no. 13646, classed good by al Albani in his book,” Silsilah Al Ahadits Ash Shahihah no. 906)
