A Brief Picture of The Pleasures in Paradise in Qur’an

Paradise is the eternal place for the pious men. It is as wide as the sky and earth combined together, with unimaginable pleasures inside. The Messenger of Allah -peace and prayer of Allah be upon him- said:

“Allah said: ‘I have prepared for My pious slaves things which have neither been seen by an eye, nor heard by an ear, nor (even) imagined by a human being.” (Narrated by Bukhari)

Among the pleasures of Paradise are:

1. It’s foods are luxurious, with delicious fruits and bird’s meat. (See: chapter Al Waaqi’ah: 20-21).

2. It’s beverages are wide in range, and the dwellers inside it are served by the youth who stay young. They are joined by keen-eyed maidens, beautiful as pearls hidden in their shells. (See: chapter Al Waqi’ah: 17-22)

3. The dwellers of Paradise are adorned with bracelets made of gold and pearls and their clothes are of silk. (See chapther Fathir:33), while they are sitting on beautiful couches. (See: chapter Al Kahfi: 31)

4. It’s beds are raised, near which glasses are arranged, with neatly put couches and spread rugs. (See: chapter Al Ghaasyiyah: 13-16)

5. It’s dwellers recline on couches lined with brocade, and within reach shall hang the fruits of the two Gardens. (See: chapter Ar Rahman:54)

6. In it shall be rivers of incorruptible water, rivers of milk unchanging in taste, and rivers of wine, and rivers of pure honey. (See: chapter Muhammad: 15)

The Messenger of Allah -peace and prayer of Allah be upon him- said:

“Indeed in Paradise there is a sea of water, and a sea of honey, and a sea of milk, and a sea of wine, then the rivers shall split off afterwards.” (Narrated by Ahmad and Tirmidhi, see: Shahihul Jami’ in hadith no. 2122)

7. In it are thornless lote trees, and fruit-clad banana trees, and extended shade, and gushing water. (See: chapter Al Waqi’ah: 27-31)

The Messenger of Allah -peace and prayer of Allah be upon him- said:

“In Paradise there is a tree in whose shade a rider could travel on a fine, swift-footed horse for one hundred years, and still not cross it.” (Narrated by Ahmad, Bukhari, Muslim, and others; see Shahihul Jami’ in hadith no. 2125)

8. It’s dwellers will be forever young and wont get old, forever well and wont get ill, forever please and wont be sad. The Messenger of Allah -peace and prayer of Allah be upon him- said:

“A caller will call out: ‘You are promised that you will be healthy and will never get sick, you will live and never die, you will remain young and never grow old, you will enjoy bliss and will never be miserable.’” (Narrated by Muslim)
