The Trial of Dajjal (The Liar)

“What enjoinment will Dajjal bring to the world?”

Answer:

At the beginning of his disclosure, he enjoins people to Islam and declare that he is a muslim and that he will defend Islam. Next, he will admit the attribute of prophethood and that he is a prophet. Then he will admit that he is a deity (Lord that must be worshipped). This is his last enjoin, which was also proclaimed by Pharaoh who declared himself as The Lord.

Question:

Sheikh Muhammad Ibn Shalih Al Uthaymeen was asked:
“What and how the trial of Dajjal will be?”

Answer:

Among Allah The Almighty’s wisdom is that He allows him to display some signs and proofs of his greatness, which actually a terrible trial. Dajjal will come to a nation and enjoin them to follow him, and they eventually will follow him. Since they are willing to follow Dajjal, their land become fertile and various plants grow on it, their cattle become fat and yield plenty of milk, and they truly live in prosperity.
Dajjal will also come to a nation and enjoin them to follow him, but they reject him. As the result, they become very poor and possess nothing. This is a very severe trial, particularly for the Bedouins or the common people. And he (Dajjal) will walk pass some ruins, and say, “Throw out your wealth!”, this all of treasuries and wealth that are stored in that ruins, just as a troupe of bees of gold and silver, and other jewelries without any tool or stone. This is a trial and test that Allah the Exalted gives to people at that time. This is Dajjal, and his interaction with the people in this world is to bewitch those who just want to enjoy the pleasures of this world or being wretched in it.
The other trial that he’ll cause is that Allah will make the paradise and hell in his hand according to people’s eyes, but in reality, his paradise is actually hell and his hell is paradise.

Whoever obey him, he’ll enter him to his paradise in people’s eyes, but in reality, that paradise is the burning hell, we seek protection of Allah from it.

And whoever disobey him, he’ll throw that person into the hell in people’s eyes, which in reality is Paradise.

Therefore, we all need strength from Allah, because if a person isn’t strengthened by Allah, he’ll be lost. We all need that strength from Allah, by holding firmly to this religion.

His other trial is that there’ll be a youth who come to him and say, “You are Dajjal that the Messenger of Allah – peace and prayer of Allah be upon him- had told us about!”.

Dajjal enjoin that youth to follow him, but he is reluctant to answer his enjoin thus he will be beaten and wounded and killed and mutilated into two pieces. Then Dajjal will pass between his body pieces to prove that he has really cut the youth’s body into two pieces.

Then Dajjal call him again and he stand up with cheerful face and say, “You are Dajjal that the Messenger of Allah – peace and prayer of Allah be upon him- had told us about !”.

Hence Dajjal intends to kill him but he is unable to, and he is unable to control anyone after that youth.

This is among the greatest testimony in the sight of Allah, because of the unimaginable condition that the people at time suffer. Only those who directly face that fear that can picture it. In that dreadful situation, he (that youth) can bravely tell Dajjal in his face that he is Dajjal that the Prophet -peace and prayer of Allah be upon him- had mentioned about. His words means a warning to others to beware of the trial of Dajjal.

That is Dajjal and his enjoins.
